"When you buy a piece of vintage clothing, you're not just buying fabric and thread - you're buying a piece of someone's past". - Isabel Wolff

Thank heavens for long weekends!

This week has been absolutely crazy!  The kids are now out of school for the summer, we have three people sharing one car temporarily, and my husband managed to get pneumonia :(  Nothing can get done fast enough (not to mention well enough).   So, this blog entry is going to be short, but sweet.  In the spirit of Follow Fridays on Twitter - here's a seller who's listings I love to follow - perhaps you'll find a new favorite shop!

A few of my favorite things... part 2

Refashioned.  Repurposed.  Recycled.  Upcycled.  Restored.  Revived.  I really don't ride the vintage train because I am "green"... I TRY, don't get me wrong, I"m just not overly GOOD at it.  I am glad that what I do has a positive effect on the environment - it certainly has a positive effect on my environment!  I love all the unique items in my home and I love the search for more!  I ran across this super cute idea (not to mention super cute seller) on Etsy and think they're really on to something... how cute would these be in a vintage-inspired nursery?

These are a few of my favorite things...

I love vintage clothes and accessories, but the extent of my talent lies in treasure hunting and waiting patiently for clients to find my horde.  I am constantly amazed by the stunning handmade, upcycled or refashioned pieces I find on Etsy.  I stand in awe of the artist's ability.  I came across this shop a while ago and had the urge to add each and every item to my favorites.  VintageValleyGirl refashions vintage jewelry into stunning, wearable accessories that are absolutely amazing.  <3 this shop and all of her pieces!

Delete Delete Delete Delete

In an attempt to rid myself of Google Voice, I somehow managed to delete my original blog.  Even better, Blogger insists that my original name, The Vintage Biddy, is no longer available.  Of course it isn't available, it's mine :P  While I was a bit irked at first, I'm over it and back with a new blog and a new commitment to posting regulary.  I miss my followers, though, few that they were - with them here I could pretend that I wasn't talking to myself.
